Your coach works with you each week to hold you accountable to your goals, identify barriers, discuss motivation and celebrate your success. Step by step, week by week, the coach supports you, encourages you and helps you accomplish your goals in a way that works for you. What are the qualifications of a wellness coach?
At Peak Life Wellness, all of our wellness coaches are certified by Wellcoaches which is affiliated with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In addition to the training course and rigorous certification process, all certified wellness coaches must have extensive experience in the areas of health, fitness or nutrition.
What’s the difference between a health coach, a life coach and a wellness coach?
Typically, a life coach is a generalist. He or she will work with you on whatever area of your life that you want to fine tune—such as, a career or relationship. A health coach is specialized to work with chronic illnesses. And a wellness coach is someone who is trained in health and works with individuals on issues dealing with health, fitness, nutrition or stress.
How do I know if I need a wellness coach?
If you’ve said to yourself multiple times over the years, “I really need to ____________ (lose that baby weight, deal with stress, start an exercise program, etc.),” a wellness coach may be something to consider. It is so easy to make a plan in your head. Then when push comes to shove and the reality of kids, career, social events come into play, it’s often difficult to make your personal goals a priority.
